Rueben Bain / EDGE | Miami, Fl | 6022 / 263 lbs / 9.1” Hands / 30.7” Arms / 77.4” Wingspan |
Lacks ideal height and desired length – arm length and wingspan fall short of minimum standards. Very good frame with solid musculature and desired mass. Good hands fighter and can shed blocks effectively – strong and active hands that he uses to shed blocks. Very quick and active hands allow him disengage and defeat the pass blocker (see second half sack recorded against C. Smith of Indiana in the National Championship Game). Displays an impressive power rush – converts speed to power well. Very good initial twitch displayed at the snap. Plays with excellent leverage and bend. Very strong punch that can knock back the OT. Is a good athlete with good speed and agility for his size. Fluid enough to drop into coverage. Pursues hard from the backside. Flashes an impressive speed rush with good closing burst. Developing a deep arsenal of pass rush moves including an effective swim maneuver and a powerful club move. Persistent, non-stop motor and pursuit. Sets a strong edge and is difficult to get outside of in the run game. Capable of beating the OT with effort and relentlessness. Makes plays in the backfield consistently. Smart, disciplined, and rarely fooled or out of position. Sometimes slides inside where his agility, speed, and athleticism overwhelm most college IOL. Effective kick blocker. Lack of desired length allows the OT to shoot his hands and swallow Bain up at times at the LOS. Lack of length may depress his value on April 23rd but he is a complete EDGE without any significant holes in his game and should be an instant impact starter in the NFL as a rookie. |

Anthony Hill / LB | Texas | 6020 / 238 lbs / 9.5” Hands / 32.3” Arms / 79” Wingspan 4.51 40 / 34.5” Vertical / 9’11” Broad / 21 reps (225 lbs) |
Possesses desired height, frame, mass, and length for an off-the-ball LB. Extremely long arms and a huge wingspan relative to his body type. Great athlete with excellent speed and range – true sideline to sideline range. Very fast with the speed to run with RBs, TEs, and some WRs. Solid read and react skills – reads his keys and fills the proper hole consistently in the run game. Possesses the athletic profile and size to match-up well with TEs in man coverage. Agile enough to cover most RBs in man coverage. Serves as the Longhorns dime LB and is on the field in all defensive situations. Good leaping ability and can sky for the INT (see pick v Georgia). Very good instincts – rarely fooled or takes false steps. Intelligent and aware – high football IQ. Very dangerous and effective blitzer with an impressive closing burst. Displays the ability to bend, flatten, and burst to close on the QB – could interest some teams as a 3-4 EDGE. Prefers to beat the blocker to the mesh point and tries to win with speed and agility. Needs to improve stacking and shedding proficiency to get better at stuffing the run at the POA. Improving his strength would aid his ability to handle TEs in coverage better. |

Transfer from Purdue. Good size – desired height, frame, and mass. Very good arm length and wingspan. Possesses blazing speed and can cover a lot of ground in the back end. Plays a significant amount of time as a single high safety – very good range. Very good athlete with enough agility and C.O.D. skills to cover TEs and some WRs in man coverage. Operates best out of zone defense where he can watch the QB’s eyes and jump the route and make a play on the ball. Capable of delivering the big hit. Reliable open field tackler. Effective blitzer with a quality closing burst. Excellent leaping ability – high points the ball well (see game clinching INT v Penn St). Elite ball skills and attacks the ball in the air – 8 career INTs and 14 passes defended in his three years at Purdue and Oregon. Very instinctive and is difficult to fool. Played much more in the box in Eugene this past season and displayed the toughness and physicality to crash down and support against the run. Keys and closes quickly against the run with sound read and react skills. Recorded six INTs in 2023, earning Big Ten Freshman Defensive P.O.Y. Well-rounded player who is a plug and play starter as a rookie. |
