Scout's Eye - All-Star Game Invitations (Christmas Edition)
The Senior Bowl participants are overwhelmingly the best declared juniors and seniors available for the NFL Draft. Most, but rarely all, first round draft picks played in the Senior Bowl with the notable exception of the best QBs who typically opt-out of participating.

Scout's Notebook - Mock Draft Number 5 *FREE PREVIEW*
The latest SNS mock draft values the positions of depth that NFL teams prioritize. Namely, OT and EDGE are two of the deepest positions in the 2026 NFL Draft - 13 of the 32 picks in this mock draft are either OTs or EDGEs. On the other hand, only six of the 32 first round picks are from "skill" positions of QB, RB, and WR. When the 2025 season began, the QB class was viewed as potentially deep and talented. But the reality of the situation was much starker...

Scout's Notebook - First Round Playoff Report
Draft-worthy upperclassmen have been sitting out the bowl games for years, fearing an injury suffered in a meaningless bowl game could derail their professional career. This thought process also applies to any player who intends to enter the transfer portal - why risk a bowl game injury and not being able to cash in on a lucrative NIL offer from another school to play in a pointless game? If only the Fighting Irish had declined a bowl bid, it could be written off as Notre Dam

Scout's Eye - SNS Player Awards & All-American Team
Welcome to SNS’ first annual edition of the SNS All-American Team and Player of the Year (P.O.Y) Awards. Although many of the names will be similar to other All-American teams, the reasoning for the SNS All-American team is markedly different. The SNS All-American team and P.O.Y Awards are only given to draft-eligible prospects that are high level NFL draft prospects. In other words, fantastic college players, are not included in the All-American team because they are margina

Scout's Notebook - Conference Championship Week Report
The penultimate edition of the college football playoff selection show just dropped on Tuesday night and it is clear that the selection committee is not committed to placing an ACC team in the playoff field. Tuesday's rankings listed two place holders for the 11 and 12 seeds - Conference Champ #4 and Conference Champ #5, respectively. If Virginia wins Saturday night, the Cavaliers are securely in the field as the likely 11-seed and will open up with a road game the weekend of

Scout's Notebook - SNS Mock Draft Number Four
The 2026 NFL Draft is only beginning to take shape as the regular season wraps up and prospects begin to declare for the draft. Over the next couple of weeks, prospects will start declaring for the draft, accepting post-season all-star bowl game invitations, and accepting invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine. So, any mock drafts conducted at this point are pure conjecture that serve as a useful measuring stick to see where NFL teams measure up to one another.

Scout's Notebook - Week Thirteen Report
SNS' number one QB prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft, Fernando Mendoza (Indiana), was barely on the draft radar when the season began. The quality of the 2025 QB class will be determined after Dante Moore (Oregon) and Ty Simpson (Alabama) decide to declare or to return for another season of college football. If Moore and Simpson return to college, the 2026 NFL Draft QB class could be one for the ages - Moore, Simpson, Manning, Julian Sayin (Ohio State), Marcel Reed (Texas Q&M)

Scout's Notebook - 2026 NFL Draft Position Rankings - FREE PREVIEW!!
Entering the 2025 season, the QB class was supposed to be loaded but for a variety of reasons it has fallen well short of expectations - injury (Drew Allar), inexperience (Arch Manning), poor protection (Garrett Nussmeier), and inconsistent performances (Carson Beck & Cade Klubnik). As we stand now, only two QBs look like first-round draft picks at this point of the season - Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) and Ty Simpson (Alabama)

Scout's Notebook - Week Eleven Report
The NY Jets have pulled the plug, not only on the 2025 season, but for the next couple of years, after trading franchise cornerstones IDL Quinnen Williams (to Dallas) and CB Sauce Gardner (to Indianapolis), and acquiring a boat load of draft capital in the process. The Jets will have two first-round and two second-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft and three first-round draft picks in the 2027 NFL Draft - a huge haul to rebuild a roster that is short on stars and impact player

Scout's Notebook - 2026 NFL Draft Mock Draft 03
The 2026 NFL Draft, before the college season started, was supposed to offer a deep and talented group of potential franchise QBs. But with 2/3rd of the season over, only one QB has earned a first-round grade from SNS - Fernando Mendoza / Indiana. Prospective first-round QBs when the season began, including Drew Allar / Penn State (out for the season with a knee injury), Cade Klubnik / Clemson, Carson Beck / Miami, Fl, Garrett Nussmeier / LSU, and Arch Manning / Texas, have s

Scout's Notebook - Week Nine Report
Entering last weekend, eleven teams were undefeated, a large number for this point of the season. But after last Saturday, that number has been reduced to six teams after (2) Miami, Fl (lost to Louisville), (5) Ole Miss (lost to Georgia), (7) Texas Tech (lost to Arizona State), (22) Memphis (lost to UAB), and UNLV (lost to Boise State) all tasted the bitterness of defeat. The remaining undefeated teams come from the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC, and AAC.
