The Alabama - Oklahoma and Miami - Texas A&M games in the first round of the playoffs last weekend featured fantastic head-to-head match-ups on the edges with likely first-round draft picks this coming April facing off in some intriguing one-on-one battles.

The Senior Bowl participants are overwhelmingly the best declared juniors and seniors available for the NFL Draft. Most, but rarely all, first round draft picks played in the Senior Bowl with the notable exception of the best QBs who typically opt-out of participating.

The latest SNS mock draft values the positions of depth that NFL teams prioritize. Namely, OT and EDGE are two of the deepest positions in the 2026 NFL Draft - 13 of the 32 picks in this mock draft are either OTs or EDGEs. As we enter the last month of the college season, teams are jockeying for playoff positioning and two games in the SEC and one huge contest in the Big 12 will have a lot of say in who is still in contention for a playoff berth after this weekend.

Entering last weekend, eleven teams were undefeated, a large number for this point of the season. But after last Saturday, that number has been reduced to six teams after (2) Miami, Fl (lost to Louisville), (5) Ole Miss (lost to Georgia), (7) Texas Tech (lost to Arizona State), (22) Memphis (lost to UAB), and UNLV (lost to Boise State) all tasted the bitterness of defeat. The remaining undefeated teams come from the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC, and AAC.

Last Saturday, five previously undefeated teams dropped their first game of the season – Miami, Fl, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Memphis, and UNLV – leaving six teams with still unblemished records – Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, BYU, and Navy at just over the halfway point of the season.
