2025 Draft Strategy

The Titans own the first overall pick in this month's draft and they need to decide to select either QB Cam Ward (Miami, Fl) or Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), or acquire a potential generational talent in EDGE Abdul Carter (Penn State) or WR-CB Travis Hunter (Colorado). This decision will not only reverberate through the rest of the first round but also on Tennessee's roster approach on Friday and Saturday of the draft. The Titans have many needs and not all of those needs can be filled by a single draft. Assuming the Titans select a QB at the top of the draft, the Titans need to decide on whether or not to select one of the top WRs available, like Luther Burden (Missouri) or Jayden Higgins (Iowa State), or draft a passing rushing threat off the edge like Landon Jackson (Arkansas), Jordan Burch (Oregon), or Jack Sawyer (Ohio State). Later on Friday and into Saturday, the Titans need to bolster their offensive line, acquire an additional weapon to deploy out of the backfield, and improve the quality of play in the defensive backfield. Tennessee should be active in the trade market draft weekend and they need to exhaust all options to make this team more competitive in the AFC South.
