2025 Draft Strategy
Pittsburgh is in a less than ideal situation this off season without a clear starter at QB on the roster and no clear strategy going forward. The Steelers are not on the clock until the 21st pick and unless they trade up to the top of the first to draft either Cam Ward (Miami, Fl) or Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), will have to decide if Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss) is the solution. Dart has all physical tools and looks the part of an NFL QB but a close analysis of his game film over the last two seasons shows a QB who wilts under pressure and fails to elevate his, or his team's, performance consistently against better competition. The Steelers could choose to continue to make improvements along the offensive line and select the best OL available. At guard, Tyler Booker (Alabama) and Donovan Jackson (Ohio State) would be logical selections. After the first round, the Steelers will want to take a one of the outstanding RB prospects in this draft. Omarion Hampton (North Carolina), Kaleb Johnson (Iowa), Devin Neal (Kansas), and Cam Skattebo (Arizona State) all would look good in Steelers colors.
