2025 Draft Strategy

The Saints have a lot of flexibility with what they do with the ninth pick later this month. On offense, outside of OT and RB, every position could use an upgrade. Defensively, New Orlean's best player, Cam Jordan, is nearing retirement and the Saints could use a quick pass rusher to threaten OTs with speed on their outside shoulder. New Orleans could be in position to draft WRs Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona), Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State), or Matthew Golden (Texas). The Saints could also select either one of the two premiere TE prospects available in Tyler Warren (Penn State) or Colston Loveland (Michigan). If New Orleans addresses the EDGE position at #9, James Pearce (Tennessee) is a name to keep an eye on. With their remaining picks, New Orleans needs to add some additional competition at guard with the drafting of another IOL. The defense needs an infusion of talent and speed in the back half of the field and should target LBs and CBs with their Saturday picks.
