2025 Draft Strategy

The Browns are in rebuilding mode after the Deshaun Watson trade has proven to be one of the worst made in decades. Not only does Cleveland have a huge cap liability in the injured Watson but the only other QBs currently on the roster are the recently acquired Kenny Pickett, who has yet to prove that he can be a reliable starter, and the over-aged Joe Flacco. The Browns will almost certainly drafting a QB at #2, most likely Shedeur Sanders (Colorado) but serious needs exist at OLT, WR, and RB that also warrant first round consideration. Fortunately for Cleveland, this draft offers several potential starters at all three positions that should be available in rounds two or later. Some prospects to keep an eye on for the Browns in rounds one and two include OTs Josh Conerly (Oregon) and Josh Simmons (Ohio State), WRs Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State), Tre Harris (Ole Miss), and Isaiah Bond (Texas), and RBs TreVeyon Henderson & Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State), and Omarion Hampton (North Carolina). One draft will not fix all of the problems on the Browns but a smart use of draft capital later this month will establish a foundation for greater success in seasons to come.
