Best UDFA QB Signing

Seth Henigan / Jacksonville is a pairing of a team needing to improve it's QB room with a talented prospect with four years of starting experience in the AAC looking for an opportunity. Henigan's competition for a backup job is journeymen QBs Nick Mullen and John Wofford. Have to like his chances this summer.

Best Available UDFA QB

Will Rogers / Washington is experienced with three-years of starting experience in the SEC at Mississippi State and one year in the Big Ten at Washington. Rogers lacks a great arm but is smart, reads the field well, is highly productive, and is a solid decision maker.

Best UDFA RB Signing

Marcus Yarns / New Orleans will battle five other RBs for a job this summer. But in reality, Yarns is competing with former KC first-round draft pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire for the job as Alvin Kamara's primary backup ball carrier. Yarns and CEH have similar playing styles to Kamara but there is only one job available with the loser of that camp battle likely going to the practice squad.

Best Available UDFA RB

Demi-Sumo Karngbaye / Kentucky flashes a dynamic burst and is a quality pass receiver out of the backfield. The North Carolina State transfer has little wear and use in his college career. If he catches on to the right situation, he could make some noise this summer.

Best UDFA WR Signing 

Efton Chism / New England is an undersized version of Cooper Kupp, who coincidentally, had most of his collge records broken by Chism. Chism will be isolated to slot duties and has stiff competition for a backup spot but with a new coaching staff in Foxborough, the door is open for Chism to seize a roster spot this fall.

Best Available UDFA WR

Ja'Corey Brooks / Louisville was a former high 4-star recruit who never lived up to his hype at Alabama but found success and steady improvement in the ACC with his senior season being the best of his career.

Best UDFA TE Signing 

Caden Prieskorn / Detroit transferred to Ole Miss after a solid career at Memphis but had difficulty finding a role in a high-flying offense with plenty of weapons. Detroit loves the TE pair of Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright but need a quality third TE. Prieskorn is a better receiver than blocker but he significantly improved in that respect during his one season in Oxford.

Best Available UDFA TE

Sean Brown / Jacksonville State entered his senior season with many scouts keeping a close eye on him since he possesses an NFL frame and well-rounded game the NFL covets. But Brown had difficulty staying healthy and then was a victim of being in an incredibly deep TE class.

Best UDFA OT Signing 

Brandon Crenshaw-Dixon / Tennessee. The Titans are rebuilding their OL, signing Dan Moore to play OLT, necessitating moving JC Latham to the right side. The backup jobs are up for grabs and Crenshaw-Dixon is very experienced, having sarted the last three years at ORT at both SDSU and Florida. Right place meets right time.

Best Available UDFA OT

The remaining lot of OTs are pretty picked over with few NFL-ready prospects. JC Davis / Illinois has excellent size and very strong hands. He gets stressed by speed but when he engages the defender first, Davis typically wins. Davis' future is likely inside at guard at the next level.

Best UDFA IOL Signing 

Xavier Truss / Denver has experience at ORT and guard but he is best used in the box where his strength, size, huge wingspan, and mauling style is likely to earn him a roster spot this fall.

Best Available UDFA IOL

Quinn Carroll / Minnesota does not bend well and since he is such a huge man, he can get out-leveraged at times. But Carroll is a physical mauler who plays with a nasty streak. He also played for Minnesota, a program that has been putting out quality OL talent into the NFL for the last decade.

Best UDFA EDGE Signing 

Johnny Walker / Denver was one of the most shocking prospects to not get drafted this past weekend but he finds himself in a good situation. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the NFL but most of the pressure comes from the interior of the line and from blitzing. Denver could use an EDGE who can flatten, bend, and close on the QB and these are the things Walker excels at. A camp competition to monitor this summer.

Best Available UDFA EDGE

RJ Oben / Notre Dame. Oben has started at both Duke and Notre Dame and although his best game film is from two-three years ago, Oben is well-coached, smart, strong, and hard working. He is also trying to follow his father Roman, a solid OLT for the Giants two decades ago, into the NFL.

Best UDFA IDL Signing 

James Carpenter / Jacksonville is an undersized, underpowered, but exceedingly quick and competitive. Carpenter transferred to Indiana from James Madison, and along with CJ West, wreaked havoc on Big Ten offenses on their way to making the inaugural 12-team college football playoff field. Don't bet against Carpenter.

Best Available UDFA IDL

Junior Tafuna / Utah. Tafuna was a late invitee to the Senior Bowl and then proceeded to have a solid week of practice, earning a bid to the Combine. Tafuna has raw strength and is surprisingly twitched-up. Tafuna earned a third round grade from SNS and his availability 36 hours after the conclusion of the draft is a head-scratcher.

Best UDFA LB Signing 

Jay Higgins / Baltimore did not sign with the team that has the most need at LB. The Ravens have a good, if not a great group of LBs, but signed Higgins because they know a football player when they see one. Higgins' instincts are superb and he rarely misses a tackle. Higgins may have to start his career on the practice squad but his ascent to eventually starting in the NFL has only just commenced.

Best Available UDFA LB

Nick Jackson / Iowa, much like his Hawkeye teammate Higgins, just does not get the love he deserves from the scouting community. He lacks the desired traits of height, weight, wingspan, and foot speed. All he does is make tackles. Jackson, who started his career at Virginia, is one of the leading tacklers in the history of college football. His instincts and tackling are text book. Hopefully he gets an opportunity.

Best UDFA CB Signing 

Cobee Bryant / Atlanta. Shockingly, Bryant went undrafted despite great ball skills and a flair for the dramatic play. His footwork and press technique need development but Bryant plays with moxie and excels in pressure situations. He'll contribute to the Falcons this season.

Best Available UDFA CB

Jermari Harris / Iowa. Harris had a poor workout at the Combine and that certainly depressed his value. Some scouts point at the lack of ball production but analyze his game film and you see Big Ten offenses avoiding Harris at all costs. He is competitive, displays textbook fundamentals, and is excellent in run support. Expect Harris to get signed soon.

Best UDFA Safety Signing

Donovan McMillon / Cleveland. McMillon offers good length and range. He is very instinctive, reads his keys well, and fills hard against the run. He'll push for a roster spot in the fall.

Best Available UDFA Safety

Shamari Simmons / Arizona State. The Sun Devils were one of the biggest surprises in college football last season, winning the Big 12 and nearly upsetting Texas in the quarterfinals. Simmons was the glue that kept that defense together. He is a reliable and violent hitter and a natural leader. He has the personality to be a great special teams player.

Best UDFA Specialist Signing

Jonathan Kim / Chicago. Cairo Santos is a highly accurate kicker but his effective range is under 55 yards. Kim has a grenade launcher for a leg with a range nearing 60 yards. Kim is not nearly as accurate as Santos. This is a camp battle to keep an eye on.

Best Available UDFA Specialist

Caden Davis / Ole Miss. Davis has won several games in the closing seconds, including the game winner in an upset of Georgia last season. His accuracy is streaky but he has a range of 55+ yards. Davis should get an opportunity in the near future.
