2025 NFL Draft - Night 2 Preview & Top 75 Prospects Available in the 2nd and 3rd Rounds!

Night one of the 2025 NFL Draft concluded with the shocking (to some) fall out of the first round of Shedeur Sanders. The Colorado Buffaloes QB had an inconsistent post season where his interviews left many teams frustrated with his maturity level and his game film left many scouts scratching their heads. Sanders' processing is very slow and he typically waits for the receiver to break open before throwing the ball - and that just does not work at the NFL level. So, where does Sanders land? Cleveland still needs a QB and with two selections in the first four picks tonight (#33 & #36), Sanders is likely to get selected. But if the Browns pass, the Saints at #40 are the most likely next destination for Sanders.

Unlike most drafts where QBs and CBs are two premium positions that usually take up about 25% of the first round picks, only two QBs (Cam Ward at #1 and Jaxson Dart at #25) and three CBs (Travis Hunter at #2, Jahdae Barron at #20, and Maxwell Hairston at #30) were selected on Thursday night. This an indication of the lack of quality top shelf options at either position that NFL teams believe are worthy of a Top 32 selections. Expect a run on both positions on Friday night as QBs including, Sanders, Tyler Shough (Louisville), Jalen Milroe (Alabama), and Kyle McCord (Syracuse), are all likely to go off the board by the end of the third round. Likewise, expect a deep run on CBs as there are several potential starters that are available Friday night including Will Johnson (Michigan), Benjamin Morrison (Notre Dame), Trey Amos (Ole Miss), Shavon Revel (East Carolina), Azareye'h Thomas (Florida State), and Darien Porter (Iowa State).

NFL teams still believe in the old mantra that winning football starts at the line of scrimmage and demonstrated that belief by using 18 picks on offensive and defensive lineman Thursday night. Additionally, two RBs (Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton) and two TEs (Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren) were selected indicating that the NFL may be shifting to more run-based attacks next season.

The sexual assault allegations made against EDGE Mike Green (Marshall) have hurt his draft value as he fell out of the first round. Green is potentially the best pass rusher of any prospect in the draft after recording 17.5 sacks last season. How far Green falls is a story to monitor Friday night.
