Prototypical size for ILB with good height, a large frame, and a solid and powerful mass. Excellent length with long arms and a significant reach. Very physical and strong. Effectively uses off hand as a club to strip ball while securing tackle with the other arm. Fills hard against the run. Lacks great agility or athleticism in space – tightness in his hips is exposed by RBs in space. Matches up effectively with TEs in coverage although his lack of technique can be exposed in man coverage at times. More effective in zone coverage than man coverage where his instincts and vision allow him to be effective watching the QB’s eyes and anticipating routes. Smart and aware. Very good communicator.
