2025 Draft Strategy

The Seahawks are attempting a hard reset this off season, trading QB Geno Smith to the Raiders and WR DK Metcalf to the Steelers, and released WR Tyler Lockett. In their place, Seattle signed QB Sam Darnold, WR Cooper Kupp, and EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence in free agency. The Seahawks are likely to give starting OTs Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas another year but both players are on prove it ground at this point of their careers. At pick #18, Seattle could draft their preference of the best IOL available. Another possible route is drafting an elite safety like Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina) or Malaki Starks (Georgia) or a gap penetrating IDL like Walter Nolen (Ole Miss) or Derrick Harmon (Oregon). On the last two days of the draft, Seattle needs to add a WR, a pass catching TE, and possibly take a late round flyer on a QB like Taylor Elgersma (Laurier, Canada).
