2025 Draft Strategy

The Raiders resolved their short term starting QB position issues by trading for Geno Smith and now can focus on deciding which huge gap to fill with the sixth pick of the draft, RB or WR. The Raiders will likely have their choice of RB Ashton Jeanty (Boise State) or WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona) and both players would bring a much needed dose of playmaking ability to a rather moribund offense. Las Vegas has many holes to fill and should consider trading back and acquiring more trade capital in an attempt to fill the many holes on this roster. The Raiders need to improve their offensive line, draft an impactful inside pass rusher and run stuffer, and improve their coverage ability in the secondary. Las Vegas will not address all of their needs in one draft. But by using the draft process wisely, the Raiders can close the gap between themselves and the rest of the AFC West.
