2025 Draft Strategy

Last season, Atlanta shocked the NFL by selecting QB Michael Penix with the eighth pick of the draft and then installing him at the end of the season in replacement of the ineffective Kirk Cousins. The Falcons need to address the pass rush, a continuous problem over the last few seasons. Free agency brought in Leonard Floyd, who replaces Matthew Judon, who departed after last season but more help is needed. Picking at #15, the Falcons could have their choice amongst EDGEs Mike Green (Marshall), Mykel Williams (Georgia), or Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M). Talented LBs Jalon Walker (Georgia) and Jihaad Campbell (Alabama) offer versatility to play in space on run downs and rush off the edge on pass downs. Another IDL would be great for depth. Atlanta needs to add reinforcements along the offensive line, where injuries and age are starting to take a toll. Another outside WR would help free up Darnell Mooney to exploit slot CBs on a more regular basis in 2025.
