Lions draft an old-school LB at #18

This is surprising but Campbell is an instinctive, run-stuffing MLB with great range and tackling ability. Big, strong, and physical and addresses a need. But at #18? Wow.

Good pick if it was in the 2nd round. Passing on a DB or DT is very questionable

I love Campbell as a player. Very Spielman-esque. But picking him at #18 with Kancey and Gonzalez on the board? Not sure about that.

The Lions positioned themselves to be able to draft at any position with their pre-draft acquisitions. They’re stacking up players they value regardless of position, which is a winning formula. I trust Brad Holmes.
